Seward success for Sydenham

IN round one of the Seward Cup, Sydenham Rangers beat Woolavington 5-3 thanks to goals from Adam Knight (2), Ed Harrision, Cam Wilkinson and George Wilkinson.
Johnny Hunt (2) and Will Pope scored for Woolavington.
In the other cup game Norton Fitzwarren beat Exmoor Rangers 4-2 with goals from Kevin Smith (2), Danny Trump and Andy Burt. Jake Worrall and Clinton Kneeshaw pulled goals back for Rangers.
In Division Two, Blagdon Hill continue their march up the league since their inception with a 4-1 win over Nether Stowey taking them top of the division.
Pat Sherwood scored twice, and James Bryce and Luke Vaughan added one each, with Lionel Crow responding for Stowey.
Previous leaders Dulverton Town lost their top spot, losing 3-2 at Appletree Tone Youth.
Wembdon had a good 3-1 win over Watchet thanks to goals from Vinnie Kennedy and a rare Dan Casson header. Ben Cheffey sealed the points with a late goal.
Wyvern Rangers won a nine-goal thriller 5-4 against Westonzoyland. Scott Drayton started the goal fest after two minutes for Rangers, but Paul Burrows equalised for the away side and Sam Edmunds gave them the lead before Tom Melhuish got Wyvern back level again.
Luois Murrell (2) and Scott Drayton added goals for Wyvern before Callum Butt got one back for Zoy.
Andy Caldwell and Mike McGuinness scored for Stogursey to give them a 2-1 victory over Minehead, for whom Ross Addicott netted.
With Division Three leaders Sydenham on cup duty it gave the chasing teams a chance to close the gap, and The Gallery did exactly that, beating Wyvern Guns 4-1 and going top of the table.
Jake Croker led the line with a first half hat-trick and Luke Edser got one back for Wyvern, but James Bawden got a last-minute goal to make it 4-1.
Morganians stay third after a 3-2 win at local rivals Bridgwater Sports Reserves thanks to goals from Andrew James, Sam Weston and James Monteith, while Alcombe Rovers Reserves beat Highbridge Town Reserves 5-1.
Galmington Dragons also won away, beating Milverton Rangers 3-1, but Sampford Blues Reserves squandered the chance to go top of the table, losing 5-0 to Rhode Lane Wanderers with goals from Matt Patrick (3), Greg Turner and Joe Walsh.
Tone Youth lost 4-3 to an improved Williton.
There were eight goals at Porlock in the 4-4 draw with North Petherton Reserves, and Dulverton Reserves had a convincing 6-1 home win over Nether Stowey Reserves.
Division 5 leaders Ash Rangers improved their goal difference, beating of Norton Fitzwarren Reserves 12-0, Richard Maslen hitting five, Mark Beckhurst three, and Benn Bartlett, Callum Hardy, Harvey Puddy and Lewis Bellringer added one each.
Wiveliscombe maintained their 100% record with a 2-1 away win at Creech Cougars, and Spencer Turnbull netted on his debut for Staplegrove Colts to help his side to a 3-1 away win at Morganians Reserves.
Galmington Dragons Reserves beat Middlezoy Athletic 2-1 after a goalless first half, and Bridgwater Grasshoppers continued their good form with a 7-1 victory over Hamilton Athletic Foxes – Shane Thompson was the main man, scoring four times.
Bridgwater Wolves came back from 2-0 down to beat East Bower 3-2 with goals from Mitch Marks, Gareth Mountstevens and Brad Walford.
