BRIDGWATER Town Reserves put in an impressive all-round display as they comfortably beat Nailsea Town 3-0 at Fairfax Park.
Manager Steve Laker is delighted with his side's recent form and hopes they can carry it into next week. He said: “I'm really ecstatic with the performances of late, we're playing really well. I'm now looking forward to next week's game away at Stockwood Green, who lost 2-0 to Ilminster Town today.”
A second-half brace from Carl Jones and a neat first-half header from Jake Bennett sealed the points for Town, who climb above Nailsea into ninth position in the Somerset County Premier Division.
Bennett put the Robins in front on 25 minutes when his powerful header found the far corner of the net.
Bridgwater continued to dominate, but were unable to add to their lead before the break.
In fact, the hosts had to wait until the 70th minute for their second as Carl Jones slotted home from close range.
Jones rounded off a solid afternoon for Bridgwater when he added a third; latching on to a through ball to crash home.
## BRIDGWATER Town FC would like to welcome Luke Manley to the Reserve team coaching staff, a in a multipurpose role; combining coaching with physiotherapy.
Due to ongoing back problems, Luke has had to finish his playing career and so brings his vast experience to the coaching side of things.
Steve Laker said: “I'm excited to bring Luke in as he will be a valuable member of the coaching staff and with his experience as a Therapy Instructor, working alongside the Joint Emergency Therapy Team and liaising with physiotherapists and occupational therapists, he will also be taking up the rains as the team physio.”
