Minehead 2's 12 - Morganians 7
MORGANIANS's started the new league campaign with a narrow 12-7 defeat at the hands of Minehead II. Royston Grimstead scored Morgs only try to give them an early lead, before Minehead scored twice in the second-half to secure the win.The forwards started the game very well dominating completely in the scrum and nearly scoring early on with a powerful drive.
The pressure paid off in the end with Royston Grimstead, taking the ball from a scrum and forcing his way over the line to score. James Fox followed up with the conversion. The second half started in very much the same way with the Morgs pack nearly setting up another try, but this came to nothing.
Minehead came back into the game and scored two tries in the last 20 minutes, off of quick lineouts, to win the game.
They managed to hold on for a win in the first game of the season. Morgs play Wyvern, away, next week with a 3pm kick off.
