Wessex fishing round-up
2:00pm Saturday 14th September 2013 in Sport
IT has been a good week for anglers at Clatworthy Reservoir with 117 returns catching 263 fish at a rod average of 2.2.
Best bags of the week were caught by Mr C. Bee, his five fish weighed 19lb; in his limit were a 6lb and 5lb rainbow.
There was also a good bag for Mr D. Snell his bag weighing 17lb 8oz with two fish weighing 5lb and 4lb. The best season ticket limit was caught by Mr P. Giles weighing 11lb exactly.
Tactics for the week were intermediate lines still with buzzers, pheasant tail nymphs, black and peacock spiders and dmsels.
The best area is still at Rowe’s End with not much water around the arm, boats have to be careful not to interfere with bank anglers.
Hawkridge fished well towards the end of the week with several limits being caught from boats and the bank.
Mr P. West had the best fish of the week weighing 4lb and Mr D. Gooding had the best bag limit weighing 11lb.
Diawl bachs, montanas and daddys are all working well.
