Bridgwater Town set for four matches in a week Bridgwater Town set for four matches in a week

AFTER six weeks of matches being postponed, Bridgwater Town fans finally got to watch their team in action this week.

They played out a goal-less draw with Wimborne Town on Tuesday night before having their clash at Cinderford Town postponed due to a frozen pitch on Saturday.

During Tuesday night’s match, there were chances for Town to grab the lead as Ross MacNab sent his effort over the bar and Graham Mercieca gave shivering fans some excitement when his long-range shot was deflected over the bar.

The next action for the first team is tonight (Tuesday) when they travel to Bishops Sutton in the Somerset Premier Cup for a 7.45pm kick-off before welcoming Tiverton Town to Fairfax Park on Saturday.

Fixtures: Saturday, March 2 – home v Tiverton Town; Tuesday, March 5 – home v North Leigh; Thursday, March 7 – home v Shortwood United Saturday, March 9 – away v Yate Town.

Pretty apt that, stay up the town more like.

Hopefully both Bridgwater and Taunton can drag themselves to safety but it will be a dog fight.

Personally I would like to see Abingdon go down. They are one of the poorer supported sides and one of the furhest away. Failing that Sholing or North Leigh but they have picked up of late.

Bishops Cleeve have poor gates not suprisingly considering its a village but at least its up the M5.
