Enmore Golf Club draw match with Minehead

KEITH Norcutt began his year as Seniors Captain at Enmore Park with a fixture at Minehead.

The game was played on a dry but extremely windy day on the Somerset coastal course. Continuing the extra scoring system from January's fixture Enmore took a +8 advantage for the return; however on the day Minehead finished up +6 thus giving Enmore a slender +2 overall lead.

On the day the match finished four games each; the winning pairs from Enmore were David Pascoe and Graham Pain; Paul Waplington and Roger Anniss; Iain Stewart and John Newell and finally Roger Pond with Chris Marshall.

Enmore Seniors now have to wait till mid-March for their next fixture at home against Long Sutton.

*The Somerset Junior Girls Golf Captain, Megan Dennett of Enmore Park, is one of only four girls from the South West who have qualified for the British College Championships to be held at Bath Golf Club on 22nd/23rd March. The qualifying round was played at Trehorne last November.
