Saturn 29, Trident 61

TIGHT marking in defence from Emma Downes and Sally Haysham allowed Saturn to stay within half at half time.

Following a change in attack, Emma Reynolds and Sammie Woolacott's energetic driving down court helped Saturn's shooters Rosie Hill and Rachael Selway to revive the game and convert some fantastic shots.

Although falling just short of half, Saturn played a great team game.

Neptune 50, Parkfield 61

NEPTUNE travelled to Parkfield with a changed line up. It took the first quarter to settle but by half time the score was even 28 - 28.

Sadly the third quarter was to be Neptune's downfall and they allowed the opposition to pull away. Although Neptune won the final quarter, the damage from the previous 15 minutes was too much to overcome and they lost 61 - 50.

Mars 35, Queensway 40

MARS' much changed team faltered at the start of their match against Queensway with early shots going astray.

The second quarter was much improved as Mars pulled within two of the home side.

With Chris Shaw coming on as wing attack at half time, the side gained the momentum from fresh legs but gave the ball away cheaply at times.

Victoria Saban (GD) performed strongly in the circle and showed great resilience under pressure. Mars had their opportunities but ultimately were not as effective on capitalising on them as Queensway.

Mercury 35, Newbarn 30

MERCURY made a strong start with precise passing into the attacking circle by Olivia Shorthouse and consistent shooting by Lily Rowland to lead 8-4 after the first period.

Strong defensive work by Chloe Trout and Chloe Berry meant that Mercury held the lead at half time, 16-9.

Mercury's resolve to hold onto the lead was encapsulated by Alisha Gardener's great interceptions and the team capitalised on these turnovers as Kayleigh Haste converted her shots.
