THERE was no action on the pitch for Bridgwater Town's first team this week - a familiar trend since their last match at the start of January.

Both fixtures against Abingdon United and Swindon Supermarine were postponed and with other teams around Bridgwater playing, it means they drop down to 15th in the league.

Bridgwater have played 20 times this season, notching up 27 points along the way, and there is only one other team in the league that have played less matches.

The team will hope to tackle this fixture backlog with two scheduled games at Fairfax Park this week against Taunton Town tomorrow night (February 12) and then Shortwood United on Saturday.

But club officials have warned that more postponements could be around the corner if the wet weather continues.

A spokesman said: “If we get the heavy rain that has been forecast then tonight's derby clash will be very much in doubt due to the continuing serious problem we are experiencing with the south west corner of the pitch.”

The team already have five matches to fit in this month and a further nine matches in March.

Kick-off for tonight's clash is 7.45pm and Saturday's match starts at 3pm. Keep up-to-date with all the postponements on this website.
