SOMERSET Rebels skipper Jason Doyle, finished second in the final round of the 2013 Australian Championship held at Kurri Kurri (NSW) to finish fifth overall after a run-off.

Doyle dropped but a single point in his five qualifying races, that to Championship leader Troy Batchelor, which saw him progress to the 'A' Final along with Batchelor and Dakota North, where they were joined by Rohan Tungate who won the 'B' Final.

Somerset's other two representatives, Alex Davies and Josh Grajczonek finished on seven and five points respectively, Davies once again just missing out on a place in the 'B' Final, while after a promising start that saw him take a race win and a second place finish, Josh was then plague with mechanical problems that saw him retire from his next two races to put him out of contention of any further progress.

Doyle's 18 points for his second place finish gave him a grand total of 43 points from the three rounds which placed him equal fourth overall, but was eventually placed fifth after a run-off with Rohan Tungate who also finished on the same points tally as Doyle, while Davies finished seventh on 34 points and Grajczonek ninth equal on 31 points.
