TERRIBLE weather conditions saw Sapphires off to a slow start against Parkfield, but they soon picked up by the end of the first quarter, however, not before Parkfield had taken a 14-7 lead.
Battling against the elements, steady passing was the order of the day, and great defending from Beth Fella and Rachel Lawrence kept Sapphires in the game. Accurate shooting closed the gap but Parkfield took advantage of their early lead and maintained it until the final whistle.

IT was a slow start for both teams with lots of mistakes being made due to coldness and at the end of the first quarter Claremont lead 8-5.
