Jupiter 50, Trident 46

JUPITER ended Trident's undefeated reign at this weekend. Great team spirit saw Jupiter start strongly, with perfectly timed interceptions from Beckie Cowley (GD). This rattled the opposition and at the end of the first quarter scores were level, 13 all. Great communication by Imma Matcham (WD) enabled Baylea Charles (C) to provide a solid link from defence to attack, with Sammy Kemmish (GS) converting the goals for Jupiter to take the lead, 26-23. The second half saw Trident step up their game but Jupiter held their nerve to take a crowd pleasing win, 50-46. Player of the match was Baylea Charles.

Saturn 36, Hovelands 54

SATURN started the game with a positive attitude, however, Hovelands' strong defence left Saturn trailing after the first quarter. Great shooting from captain, Becky Palmer GA, helped keep Saturn in the game. The third quarter saw some excellent defending from Sally Haysham GK and player of the match, Emma Downes WD. Despite being Saturn's most productive quarter, the final period saw Hovelands increase their lead to take the game 54 - 36.

Neptune 29, Claremont 68

NEPTUNE faced tough opposition in Galmington's Claremont and with a new line up, Neptune knew they had to start strong. Great determination from the team and good interceptions from Hazel Hucker (WD) put pressure on Claremont's attacking players, forcing errors. Neptune were able to score from these and trailed by just 4 goals at half time. Despite industrious court play from Imogen Setter (WA) and Chris Durant (C), Neptune were unable to contain Claremont's accurate shooters and went on to lose the game 29-68. Joint players of the match were Hazel Hucker and Chris Durant

Venus 48, Queensway 36

ONCE again, Venus had a new line up but, despite this, they started with determination and positive play against Queensway. The first half saw Venus display some great attacking netball with Zoe Ingram (C) making superb interceptions. Venus used the opportunity to capitalise on Ingram's interceptions and excellent shooting from Lianne Fothergill (GS) gave Venus a 24-17 lead at half time. In the second half, Venus continued to demonstrate great netball, with many turnovers. Positive drives and excellent finishing from Karis Holleron (GA) allowed Venus to increase their lead. Venus's team performance earned them a well deserved 48-36 win against Queensway. Joint players of the match were Zoe Ingram and Karis Holleron.
