LOCOMOTIVES stopped Staplegrove overtaking them at the top of Division One after playing out a 3-3 thriller.

A double from Tom Edwards and a strike from Ryan Vickery late on ensured Locos left with a share of the spoils and stayed two points clear.

North Petherton had their Division One game at Alcombe Rovers postponed.

In Division Two, table-topping Wembdon Saints dropped two points at home to the impressive Hamilton Hawks. Scott Harman got both Saints goals against their third-placed opponents.

It was a comfortable afternoon for Westonzoyland as they thumped Nether Stowey 4-0 at home, leaving the visitors with just one point from their opening six matches.

Andrew Evans, Jack Evett, Paul Burrows and an own goal completed the rout.

Middlezoy Rovers Reserves moved up to second with a 5-2 win at Appletree, with Jed Williams, Dan Russell, Sam Lewis, Max Cushing and Marvin Portlock scoring.

Sam Murray and Mark Modley were on target for Middlezoy Athletic as they lost 6-2 at Creech Coogars in Division Five.

Most other teams were on cup duty.

Bridgwater Sports won 4-3 at Watchet Town Reserves in the League Knock-Out cup, thanks to two from Paul Organ, and one from Joe Clark and Andrew Skidmore.

In the Seward Memorial Cup Stogursey beat Bridgwater Sports Reserves 6-2 after extra time, while North Petherton Reserves lost to Morganians on penalties after drawing 2-2.

Giant killers Woolavington put nine past Highbridge Town Reserves to progress to round three.

Simon Coombes got a hat trick, Josh Corkett added two with one each scored by Harry Taylor, Jason Jones, John Higgins and Adam Mitchell.

Sydenham Rangers were also victorious on their travels as they won 2-1 at Exmoor Rangers thanks to goals from from Jason Stephenson and Martyn Milton.

And Nether Stowey Reserves lost a 4-3 thriller at home to Staplegrove Colts.

Dave Rowsell, Andy Rolland and Matt Soffe all scored for Stowey.
