LibDem election candidate announced

BURNHAM and Highbridge councillor Joe Leach has been chosen to represent the LibDems in the next round of Somerset County Council elections.

Cllr Leach, currently a town and district councillor, will stand for the party in the June 2009 elections as a candidate for the Huntspill division after winning a poll of local members.

He said: “I am delighted to be selected as candidate for the Huntspill division. I was educated here and have a lot of friends in the area.”

Conservative councillor Mark Healey currently holds the seat in County Hall.
