Mr Gerald Fred Matraves

MR Gerald Fred Matraves of The Rosary Care Home, Bridgwater, formally of Puriton, passed away on March 24, aged 84 years. The funeral service took place at Taunton Deane Crematorium on April 6 and was conducted by Rev Doris Goddard.

Family mourners: Lesley, Steve and Liddy Watts (daughter, son-in-law and step- granddaughter); Samantha and Chris Jarvis (daughter and son-in-law); Eloise and Amelia Jarvis (granddaughters) (also rep Verity, granddaughter); Joyce Matraves (former wife); Herbert and Valerie Matraves (brother and sister-in-law); Mr and Mrs Gerald Dove (nephew) (also rep Joyce Dove, sister); Phil and family; Rory Cahill and Jess Cunningham (grandson and partner) (also rep Caleb, great-grandson); Craig Cahill and Lisa Hilliard (grandson and partner); Dawn Brunton (niece); Alan Matraves and Ailsa Brookes (nephew and partner); Julie Matraves (niece); Colin Matraves, Eleanor and Jacob (nephew).

Funeral arrangements were made by Bridgwater Funeral Services, 15 Bristol Road, Bridgwater, Somerset,.

Lesley, Samantha and all the family would like to thank everyone who attended the service at Taunton Crematorium and later at St Michael’s and All Angels Church, Puriton and for the many cards, messages of sympathy and donations to Somerset Sight.

Special thanks to Rev. Doris Goddard for conducting the services and to Nigel & Corrinne Gillard and all the staff at Bridgwater Funeral Services for their kindness, support & professionalism.

We are also especially grateful to the staff of Somerset Care, especially Paula, for helping to look after Gerald while at his home in Puriton.
