THE 56th annual meeting was held at the Coronation Hall in Burrowbridge. Plans were finalised for the Christmas gifts table on November 28 at The Royal Oak, Stoke, and the Christmas stall on December 12 in Burrowbridge.
Members booked in for the pampering day at North Curry in February and the group Christmas carols at Creech St Michael in December.
For the December meeting, members will be joining with the Bridgwater Folk Dance Club at St Georges Hall, Bridgwater.
Then in January they will go the Royal Oak for their post Christmas meal before being back at the Coronation Hall on Monday, February 15 when the speaker will be Tristan Blacker, who will talk about Cambodia and the rainforest.
During the evening Rita Tompkins reported on the autumn council meeting and Marion Hilling won the prize for the most wins in competitions over the last year.
Christine Vowles, treasurer, reported on a healthy bank balance, for which members congratulated themselves!
Mary Blackborow decided to retire as president after serving for three years and Sue Nicholas was unanimously elected as new president for 2010.
