THE speaker’s table groaned with goodies as Roland Newbold, speaker at the February Meeting, brought a variety of organic teas, coffees, cakes and biscuits for the ladies to sample.
The monthly competition to bring something relating to the speaker’s subject produced everything form a cup and saucer to a tea towel and a jar full of earth!
Another three visitors were welcomed to the meeting to see what Westonzoyland WI had to offer – making six so far this year.
The new programme for the year was produced, offering a wide selection of subjects ranging from Behind the Scenes of the Antiques Road Show and Christmas traditions of Europe to Animal Rescue and Home Security.
At the Sedgemoor Inn, seventeen members came for the monthly informal get-together over a good meal and were delighted when one of the ladies who came to the January Meeting for the first time joined them.
The speaker at the next meeting, on Wednesday March 11 is Margaret Matthews-Morley with Guide Dogs’ Tales, at 7.15pm in the Community Centre.
New visitors are made very welcome. For more information contact Marjorie Coles on 691243 or Diana Fathers on 691330.
