BURNS' Night was celebrated in Chedzoy Village Hall with an evening arranged by the Zoy Villages Association.
The hall was gaily decorated for the event with the saltire taking pride of place.
Once the Address to the Haggis had been made in great style by William Salmon, a traditional meal of haggis, tatties and neeps was served.
A 250th birthday cake had been baked to mark this special occasion. After the meal the room was cleared so that the Sedgemoor Scottish Dancers could give an excellent demonstration of their art, after which the audience joined in, showing rather less skill! The evening raised over £300 towards twinning association funds but donations were also made to the restoration appeal funds for the churches at Chedzoy and Westonzoyland.
Grateful thanks to Maureen Weeks and her team of helpers for another excellent event. For details of twinning and future events arranged by the Zoy Villages contact Jon Beale on 01278-691091.
