FAMILIES across Somerset are being urged to get in the saddle for charity.
In celebration of ChildLine’s 25th anniversary, kids and adults alike are taking to the streets for a fundraising walk or cycle.
The events, which take place next Sunday, March 4, will both start at Sampford Arundel village hall, near Wellington at 10.30am.
The 25 mile cycle ride is only open to over 18s, and will follow quiet country lanes through the Somerset and Devon countryside, passing through Uffculme, Culmstock and Hemyock.
However, the 2.5 mile walk is suitable for the whole family – including the dog.
NSPCC community fundraising manager, Donna Statham said: “The ChildLine cycle ride and family walk will be a fabulous day out with something for everyone, whatever their fitness or ability.
“By joining in with these events, or by sponsoring those taking part, you can help us be there for children and young people - both now and in the future.”
Entry is £5 for adults and £2.50 for kids.
To register, contact Donna on dstatham@nspcc.org.uk or 01823-674495.
