WITH the fourth annual Somerset Day a little over around a fortnight away, this year’s celebration promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Groups and organisations across countywide are taking part and there’s still time for you to organise something.

Nigel Muers-Raby, chairman of Passion for Somerset, organisers of Somerset Day, said: "As this special day gets closer, we’re really thrilled with the response we’ve had from groups and organisations across the county.

"Each year momentum grows as more people get behind Somerset Day, and this year it’s safe to say this is absolutely the best year yet.

"With food and craft fairs, exhibitions, competitions, concerts and tea parties, we’re hoping everyone has a chance to celebrate all that’s great about the county.

"With the support of some of the county’s leading businesses, we’ve been able to spread the message far and wide.

"This year we have some great new initiatives that people all over the county can get involved in, such as The Great Somerset Tea Party in aid of St Margaret’s Hospice, and a social media World Cup of Somerset led by Somerset County Council.

"Whether you attend one of the many events taking place in our towns and villages, or perhaps you feel like organising your own, this is a great opportunity to celebrate the community you live in."

Somerset Day falls on Friday, May 11, but celebrations are taking place into the weekend - upload details of your events and check what's going on by clicking here.
