A 1,500-mile wide Atlantic storm is set to bring to an end a spell of good weather with strong winds, rain and large waves.
A spell of unseasonably strong southwesterly winds, accompanied by heavy, showers, is expected to develop across the south of the UK on Friday night, and will get worse on Saturday.
Winds will peak early on Saturday through the Bristol Channel area, before slowly transferring east across the south of England.
Gusts of 40-45 mph inland, and 50 to very locally 60 mph along exposed coastlines, are expected.
