POLICE have reoported that an 11-year-old Somerset boy who went missing overnight has been found "safe and well".

Leroy Drake was found by a police dog handler after crew from the police helicopter spotted him and directed ground units.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: "Thank you to the media and everyone who shared our appeal through social media."

THE mystery disappearance of an 11-year-old Somerset boy has sparked a massive police search.

Leroy Drake has not been seen since 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday, May 28), when he was in the garden of his home.

Police say they are worried because of his age and because he is not properly dressed for the current wet weather and does not have his mobile phone on him.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said Leroy has been missing from his home in Jocelin Drive, Weston, overnight.

He is described as white, about 5ft tall, stocky, with short dark hair and dark eyes.

When last seen he was wearing a green T-shirt with a red patch pocket, navy blue shorts, white socks and blue trainers.

Inspector Jarrod Bartlett said: “We are obviously concerned for Leroy due to his age but also as he is not properly dressed for the current wet weather and has left without his mobile phone.

“We are checking with his friends and relations and searching places he likes to visit, such as Worlebury woods.

"We know that Leroy likes using public transport, so we’re asking taxi and bus drivers to look out for him as well as anyone using buses and trains.

“If you have any information which could help us find Leroy, please call 101 quoting reference MP2221/15. If you know where he is now, ring 999.

“Leroy, you’re not in any trouble, everyone just wants to know that you are safe. Please call home or ring the police yourself to let us know you are OK.”
