A FARMER rolled up his sleeves to help firefighters rescue a cow stranded in a river.
Fire crews were called to the incident at Midelney Road, Drayton, Langport, at 11.56am today, Sunday, May 17.
The firefighters were assisted by a local farmer with a telehandler to get the animal out of the water.
Just half an hour earlier firefighters were sent to Bridgwater to rescue a distressed border collie stuck in the canal.
