AN inquest has been opened into the death of a man killed on a level crossing in Somerset.
Dennis William France, 65, of Stoke St Gregory, was killed when his car was in collision with a train on a crossing in Athelney last Thursday (March 21).
An inquest into his death was opened today (March 25) with the cause of death being given as traumatic injuries.
The incident happened on the line between Taunton and Castle Cary at about 6.30am.
The First Great Western train was heading from Exeter to London and was carrying 45 people, including 37 passengers.
