HORSE management students from Bridgwater College have raised more than £200 for charity after organising a dressage competition.
Students from the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horse Management course organised the competition at Cannington Equestrian Centre and raised £230 for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
The girls sourced sponsorship and prizes, gaining the support of local saddler Julia Garrett as lead sponsor, as well as local businesses which provided the prizes.
Debbie Ball, programme manager for Horse Management said: “Local riders were treated to a fantastic day of glorious sunshine and healthy competition.
“Feedback from everyone has been really good and the event has inspired some students to consider event management as a future career option.”
The students thanked Mole Valley Farmers, Cannington Golf Course, The Walled Gardens of Cannington, The Rose & Crown at Nether Stowey, Spillers Feeds, Toggi clothing, Bridgwater College Hair and Beauty Zone and Hills Butchers for their support.
