YOUNGSTERS from a Bridgwater school enjoyed a tour of the distinctive Morrisons distribution centre, thanks to one of their fellow pupils.

Alice Nunn, 10, won a competition to rename the centre, which is situated next to the M5 near Bridgwater, after her Willow Green suggestion was chosen as the best.

As part of her prize, bosses at Morrisons arranged for Alice and her classmates from Kingsmoor Primary School to tour the 750,000 sq ft site.

Alice said: “I was really excited when I found out I’d won. I chose the name because of the willow man and the green fields.”

Neal Austin, of Morrisons, said: “We felt Alice’s entry was spot on in capturing the look of the centre, as well as describing its surroundings.”

Kingsmoor head teacher Mick Bird said: “Staff and children have watched the project rise from the ground.

“As it is such a massive feature of the landscape it was bound to divide opinion but we like it.

“I was delighted our pupils took part in the competition and proud we had a winner in our midst.”
