6:00pm Thursday 26th August 2010

SEDGEMOOR Manor Junior School was presented an award for creating the best display during a visit to Barrington Court.

Around 200 children took part in the visit to learn more about orchard produce and wildlife as part of the Kingfisher Award.

The award was set up in the 1990s to help school children get connected with wildlife and learn about its links to farming.

Sedgemoor Manor Junior School received the Kingfisher Award after creating a display on what they had learned during the day.

They also received a day out at West Bradley Orchards near Glastonbury.

Event organiser Michael Brown said: “I was amazed by the enthusiasm of the children and their vibrant and imaginative displays.

“It made the project so rewarding for all concerned.”
