YEAR six pupils from St Mary's Primary School were given an insight into higher education with visits to Bridgwater College and the University of the West of England.
Pupils received a tour of the Bridgwater College site, met current students and took part in a quiz.
11-year-old Sophie said: “There is just so much to do here - I would like to have a go at everything.”
Deputy head teacher Mary-Jane Collington said: “We organised this visit as part of our careers programme for year six pupils in order to encourage them to start thinking about their futures, raise aspirations and develop financial awareness.
“Bridgwater College has been really helpful and we hope to repeat the visit next year.”
Holly Mees, schools liaison officer at the college, said: “We had a really enjoyable day and I look forward to developing this link further next year.”
Their trip to UWE was organised in conjunction with the Sedgemoor Learning Alliance and included children from other schools.
