A MUCH-LOVED teaching assistant at Penrose School was given a fond farewell after 23 years of service.

In a glowing tribute to the retiring Roz Burge, head teacher Liz Hayward described her as “an exceptionally caring individual”.

She said: “I can't imagine what next year will be like without Roz.

“She has been so supportive of everyone at the school and cheers us all up with her sunny personality.

“She has brought so much to the school over the years. She has trained in massage and reflexology to support pupils as they relax following strenuous physiotherapy sessions and in so many more ways we will all miss her.

“It's Roz's time now to spend with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren, and everyone at Penrose School wishes her every happiness.”
