BUDDING Brunels turned bamboo into bridges during a special architectural challenge at Chilton Trinity Technology College.
A member of the Cambridge-based Architecture Workshop visited the school for a hands-on session with 80 year seven students, during which they investigated why bridges are designed the way they are and why certain mathematical shapes are used.
The students worked in teams and were challenged to design the strongest, tallest and most beautiful bridge structure, using bamboo canes.
