IT has been a year of remarkable sporting achievement all round at Sedgemoor Manor Junior School in Bridgwater.
Proud staff have hailed pupils who have scooped trophy after trophy over the last year, building on the success of previous years, at its presentation day.
Jim Gillard, the school's sports co-ordinator, congratulated the boys' football team which won the Pritchard Cup for the third success year, with George Durant named player of the
year.
There was also success for the girls' football team after they were victorious in the local area tournament, qualifying to represent Sedgemoor at the county finals where they were
beaten finalists.
Meanwhile the school netball team was unbeaten on the way to winning the Bridgwater Schools' League with the player of the year award going Rheanne Lee.
The rounders team claimed the title of Bridgwater Schools' League champion for the first time after winning every match. Chloe Crandon was named player of the year.
Athletic pupils scooped no less than 12 medals throughout the year in various cross-country events, making it 50 medals in just three years.
The athlete of the year award went to Krystal Edwards while the impressive Rheanne Lee from year six won 15 awards in cross-country running, including seven gold medals, while at the school.
Nicole Bell was rewarded for her outstanding contribution to school sport.
Mr Gillard said: “The school is incredibly proud of the children's achievements.
“They have an excellent attitude and show great commitment and pride. They have shown that success is achievable through hard work, dedication and practice.
“The school has a lot of talented sports men and women, all of whom enjoy sharing in each other's success and use this to inspire their own ambitions.”
