A LONG-SERVING Bridgwater secondary school teacher said goodbye to her colleagues and pupils at the end of term on Monday.
Anne Groves (pictured) joined Haygrove School when it was renamed from Dr Morgan’s Grammar School in 1973.
She was head of staff induction until her retirement when the school broke up for the summer holidays.
Friend and former colleague at Haygrove Michael Payne said: “I worked with her until my retirement in 1981 and she was such a lovely person to work with.
“We still keep in contact now. She will be sorely missed by the school and I would like to send her my best wishes.”
Anne said: "When I came here I never intended to stay as long as I did but I have thoroughly enjoyed my time.
"I have made a lot of friends over the years and it has been a priviledge to teach different generations of the same family.
"I was disappointed to leave at a time when the funding to rebuild the school was withdrawn but I hope there is still a glimmer of hope."
