Bishop of Taunton opens new Wembdon extension

DELIGHTED staff and pupils at Wembdon St George's Primary School welcomed the Bishop of Taunton to officially open its new extension.

The Bishop spoke to the children during the ceremony and was at hand to cut the ribbon.

The school raised money for the extension by saving up grants available to it over the years and the new construction will give pupils more classroom space.

Head teacher Rev David Hatrey said: “The new extension is excellent and it is a super addition of the school.

“The children are delighted with it and I would like to thank the staff and governors for all their efforts in making the new extension happen.

“The staff were working in cramped conditions during the move to the extension but they were very flexible.

“We are a very popular school and it will give the children the education they deserve.”
