A CHARITY walk will be held in Spaxton later this month to help moon bears in China.
Local group Moon Bear Rescue will hold the event beginning in Spaxton to raise funds and awareness for the bears who are kept in farms and used for bile extraction – thought to provide health benefits.
Sue Warrell, Moon Bear Rescue co-ordinator, said: “Last October’s walk had to be postponed, so we’re delighted to be going ahead with it now and plan to make it a super occasion.”
The walk starts in Spaxton on Sunday May 31 with five and ten mile options.
All money raised goes to international charity Animals Asia, which works to free Asiatic moon bears.
Sue added: “Everyone is welcome to take part in the walk and any other help, such as volunteering at events, is always welcome.”
