HARRY Potter, Where’s Wally, Peter Pan, and even an Oompa Loompa were all in Bridgwater last week as staff and youngsters in schools across the town dressed up for World Book Day.
The event, aimed to celebrate the diverse world of literature, was a big hit with young and old dressing as characters from their favourite books.
Bridgwater Academy celebrated their favourite bedtime stories with pupils coming to school in their pyjamas and onesies.
Staff and students at Somerset Bridge Primary School went all out with their costumes with a range of famous characters including Lego Policemen,Woody from Toy Story, the Cat in the Hat and an Oompa Loompa amongst others.
Teachers at Chilton Trinity also got into the spirit by dressing as their favourite characters with the majority choosing to come as the bespectacled Where’s Wally.
And Haygrove School and Hamp Academy students certainly weren’t going to miss out on the fun of World Book Day either.
Here’s a further selection of fantastic fancy dress characters from our schools.
