YOUNG scientists at Haygrove School have achieved outstanding success this year.

Fifty students opted to take two of their three Science GCSE examinations a year early, and they all obtained top-level grades of A* to C.

Nearly 60% of the students who took GCSE Chemistry achieved the ultimate top grades of A* or A, with 42% and 34% of students achieving these two top grades in Biology and Physics respectively.

Special mention goes to Fred Shirley and Rory Macgregor who were awarded A* in both their Science GCSEs. A further 13 students achieved either grade A or grade A* in both their Science exams.

Head of Science, Paul Turner, said: “This is an amazing achievement. We are so proud of our students and glad that their hard work has brought them the success they deserve. They all have great futures ahead of them.”
