Ahh so this is why the local police officer thought she would just pop in and let us know she was there if we needed her... Hmmm

I find they don't even scrape the bare minimum expected service requirement for a massively funded public police force round here. I've never known such a lazy, disinterested lot. They must manage to please the occasional citizen I guess but those must be few & far between. I reckon if you removed the whole lot of them in my area you would not notice the slightest difference. I'd like to see polls for nominating the worst team & the worst officer

Some of these posts are shamefully cynical! Like any profession there are those who take advantage and abuse the privilege but the majority are committed to provided the best level of service they can with the resources they have...And we all know that the recent levels of resources will fall foul of the chancellors axe. Many may feel or claim to be aggrieved by bad examples of policing, but surely now is the time we should be encouraging those police who excel in public service.

I agree with Iain above that if you encounter or know of any then we certainly should be encouraging them and letting them know we appreciate their efforts - on an individual basis, and/or their service delivery on behalf of a Force commissioned-by King-and-Country and financed-by-the Tax-Payer.
Having these sentiments, if I knew of any officer or team who fit the advertised nomination criteria of this Avon&Som. competition, I WOULD applaud them.
