World record bid at Bridgwater YMCA

YOUNG basketball players packed into Bridgwater YMCA on Saturday (October 13) for a world record attempt.
The centre joined with other YMCAs around the globe for the ‘YMCA World Challenge’.
It was an attempt to break the record for the number of people simultaneously shooting basketballs at hoops with the Bridgwater venue contributing 69 eager participants to the total.
Healthy lifestyles officer Harriet Collins said: “It was a great day, everyone was very enthusiastic.
“We won’t find out whether we have broken the target until it is checked by the officials at Guinness World Records but we are hoping we have done it.”
Bridgwater YMCA offers young people activity sessions on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm
