DELIGHTED staff and students at Haygrove School in Bridgwater are celebrating a positive OFSTED report... but are determined to do even better.
The school has received the results of its inspection in June, which rated Haygrove ‘good’ in every area.
Inspectors observed 35 lessons and concluded: “This is a good academy where students achieve well”, and “the academy’s high expectations and broad range of examination courses underpin students’ good achievements.”
The inspectors also said: “Students are proud of their academy and display positive attitudes to learning.
“Both students and carers recognise how the academy provides a safe and caring environment.”
Karen Canham, head teacher, said: “Our OFSTED rating is a testament to the hard work by staff, students and governors, and we’re all proud of what we’ve achieved.
“To be rated ‘good’ in all areas is particularly pleasing given the increasingly challenging requirements of the new OFSTED framework.
“Our challenge now is to ensure that the next time we’re visited by the OFSTED inspectors they’ll find us to be an outstanding school.
“Our students and the Bridgwater community deserve nothing less.”
