THE family of a 19-year-old Bridgwater woman who was killed in a crash in Thurloxton on Sunday have described her as a “bubbly, kind and loving person”.

Sophie Lack and her boyfriend, Luke Porter, 22, were on the A38 heading from Bridgwater to Taunton when the tragedy happened.

A police spokesman said: “At around 10.30am a Peugeot RCZ and Vauxhall Astra were travelling along the road near Thurloxton.

“The Peugeot allowed the Astra to pass and for reasons unknown the Astra lost control and struck a tree.

“Both the driver and the front seat passenger died at the scene.”

Two people were arrested following the incident but have since been released with no further action taken.

Sophie’s family said: “Sophie will be sadly missed by all her family friends.

“She was a bubbly, kind and loving person who cared about everything and everyone. We would very much appreciate our privacy at this sad time."

Sophie and Luke worked at Bridgwater’s Robert Wiseman Dairies and a company spokesman told the Mercury: “The loss of Sophie and Luke in such tragic circumstances has come as a shock to everyone at our dairy in Bridgwater and to the company as a whole.

“We are offering support to those who worked with Sophie and Luke we would like to pass on our sincere condolences to the families.”

Tributes have been pouring in on Facebook. Holi Baker wrote on Sophie’s page: “Never a day will go by that you’re not in any of our hearts or souls, angel.”

Sarah Edwards wrote: “You had so much to live for, both of you. May heaven give you that life-long holiday you and Luke have been planning.”

Missy Shann Ryan wrote: “So young with so much to look forward to. Such a sad day for so many people.”
