A SUPERMARKET manager is preparing to run three events in three weeks to raise £300 for charity.

Patrick Bowden, of Bridgwater ASDA, will run the Weston Grand Pier Half Marathon (September 23), the Bristol Half Marathon (September 30) and the Chester Marathon (October 7) for The Children's Trust.

Patrick, from Halyard Drive, said: “The Children’s Trust is a place where children with learning disabilities and complex medical conditions can find the expert help they need to achieve as much independence and quality of life as possible.

“The children are in an environment where they are a child first and their disability is secondary.

“The money raised from these three events will be used to benefit the children in the Trust’s care to help them lead as full lives as possible no matter how serious their disability.”

The events will help Patrick prepare for another challenge – Ironman Lanzarote 2013 – which he is also doing for the Trust. He will complete a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile cycle and a full 26.2-mile marathon all on the same day.
