THESE mums were so moved by the death of four-year-old Dylan Cecil they are to take on a sponsored walk in his memory this weekend.

Dylan, from Kettering, died after falling into the sea off Burnham jetty on August 19. His body was recovered four days later near Burnham Yacht Club.

Cindy Maxfield, Sarah White, Sarah Edwards and Reb-ecca Dodd, all from Bridgwater, will walk from the town to Burnham to raise money for rescue charities.

Sarah White, 35, of Hamp, said: “I’ve lost children myself so I know what it’s like to go through the pain. We felt it was important to raise money for the emergency teams as they don’t get a wage and they do a brilliant job.

“There should be more funding for the services to provide more lifeguards to stop things like this happening.”

Sarah, along with Cindy of Syden-ham, Sarah Edwards of Wilstock Village and Rebecca, of St John’s Street, will take on the eight-mile trek on Saturday (September 8) in aid of the RNLI, Coastguard and a memorial for Dylan’s family.

The mums want more people to join them and to dress up in pyjamas or fancy dress and get sponsored to help raise funds. Collection buckets will be out on the day for donations or the mums can be found on Facebook.

The walkers will leave from the lower end of Sainsbury’s car park in Bridgwater at 10am, heading to Burnham’s beach.
