A PENSIONER has handed in a petition with more than 2,400 signatures against a proposal to move Bridgwater’s post office out of the town centre.
Ken Trunks, of Albert Street, produced the petition at a Town Council meeting last week about consultation on the post office being moved to Sainsbury’s at The Clink.
He had previously handed in another 350 signatures at a Sedgemoor District Council meeting in July.
Mr Trunks, 78, said: “I’ve been going on Mondays and Thursdays to Angel Place and asking people to sign.
“The people of Bridgwater think this proposal is disgusting.”
His efforts have been praised by Bridgwater MP Ian Liddell-Grainger.
