THESE photos reveal the exciting future awaiting thousands of students as the £50million project to rebuild three Bridgwater schools nears its end.

Students at Robert Blake Science College and Elmwood School, which are being rebuilt together on one site, and Chilton Trinity Technology College will move into their new buildings in early November.

All the outside building work is finished and the interiors are nearly ready, too.

Contractor BAMConstruction is ready to hand over the keys to Somerset County Council at the end of October.

Tony McMahon, county councillor responsible for children and families, said: “Real progress is being made with the construction of the three new schools.

“The investment made into both projects is impressive and it’s great to see this partnership working so well together.

“I’m sure both the students and staff will be inspired by their new facilities when they move in.”

BAM’s construction manager, Craig Allen, said: “We’re very excited to be nearing completion of the new Bridgwater schools.

“We’re very proud of the school designs.”

Students have been involved in the design process.

Features of the new Robert Blake and Elmwood include futuristic seating pods, an amphitheatre, an auditorium and a sensory learning centre.

The new Chilton Trinity school will include a swimming pool, sports hall, activity studio and fitness suite to be shared with the community.

New playing fields have also been created on the old allotments site at Chilton Trinity.
