Woman assaulted in Bridgwater

POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted in Bridgwater .
The woman was on Pollard Road, alongside Tesco Express, at around 1:10pm on Thursday (August 9).
A police spokesman said: ''A man asked the woman for the time and directions before using an unknown weapon to strike the woman to the head. The attack was unprovoked and the motive is unknown.
''The man ran away, across the road and into Bower Lane.''
He is described as a white, in his late 20s, about 6ft tall, slim but muscular build, wearing a black baseball cap, a black hooded top and dark blue jeans.
