GOLFER Richard Gilham, of Middlezoy, has cycled from Land’s End to John O’Groats for charity.
Richard, a member of Taunton Vale Golf Club, was raising money for the club’s Cup Charity Day and the Middlezoy Community Project.
Fifteen days after leaving Land’s End, the long-distance cyclist arrived at John O’Groats last week after a journey of 1,037 miles over 16 days.
Richard, who has raised more than £1,600, said: “I couldn’t have done it without the support of all my colleagues at work and Taunton Vale Golf Club, and my friends and relations who have supported and encouraged me over the past six months during the build up and throughout the ride.”
Villagers in Middlezoy organised a reception committee to welcome Richard back to the village and cheer him on his way home.
