Bridgwater gardeners meeting

Bridgwater gardeners meeting Bridgwater gardeners meeting

GARDENERS looking for a patch of land to grow food in Bridgwater are being asked to attend a meeting.

The Information Evening on Wednesday, February 29, will run from 7pm to 9pm in the Sedgemoor Room of Bridgwater House at the District Council's Chamber in Bridgwater.

The meeting is directed at residents across Sedgemoor who remain on waiting lists for an allotment or those who want to start community projects and are keen to get growing.

Parish clerks and councillors with responsibilities for allotments, allotment associations, community groups and landowners will all be in attendance and it is hoped new growing spaces will be started as a result.

Booking online at www.somersetcommunityfood.org.uk is essential for the free event.

Hopefully they'll sort out the allotments at st Matthews field, their extremely run down, with many vacant plots, some time wasters who start but never actually grow veg and people taking up extra space and occupying the path that you once used to be able to drive down to tip stuff like manure on your own perch!!

In the interests of diversity and equality, I hope that they have some patches of land that go uphill.
