Trouble is, scudloadofbolox will probably burn it to the ground. That would give him the excuse to moan about Mr Blobby and the kiddo.

I doubt there is much of a living to be made in the pub trade these days

I'd be interested in going there if they had a decent selection of real ales and good food instead of the usual Green King/Marston ales on offer in most local pubs. Something a bit different to the Otter Bitter/Ale, Tribute and Butcombe Bitter would be nice too!

Unfortunately the choice in Bridgwater and the local area is disappointing so for a bit of variety a bottle from Open Bottles in Eastover or the supermarkets is the only option.

Wetherspoons have shown the way and there are some great freehouses around like the Halfway House at Pitney.

Always open to suggestions of pubs selling a wide selection of guest ales or constantly changing house ales.

This is incitement to criminal arson and incitement to murder.

Rumour has it that scudloada and snow eagle are the same person. This post was referring to that and therefore implying the opposite of incitement to arson.

Rumours, smoke and mirrors. Who is the vicious criminal and who is the crim?. Sometimes not who you think. Readers should google search "PLANT HIRE BOSS JAILED FOR ARSON ATTACKS". The newspaper reports on a plant hire boss, jailed for 13 years for many serious criminal arsons and theft of plant, will make interesting reading. Would anyone have suspected him?. The Proceeds fof Crime recovery unit also ordered him to repau £6,000,000 of funds gained from crime, or stay in jail. Do any of you really know who or what is living in your midst?.

If that was misspelt or unclear, please google-search PLANT HIRE BOSS JAILED FOR ARSON ATTACKS. The reports are in "This Is Cornwall" and "The Western Morning News", and other local papers online.

PS can a convicted criminal really stump up six-million-quid to the Proceeds of Crime Recovery Agency?. The choice was pay up or go back to jail. So does this mean an indefinite term inside?.

What do ya make of all this Daddy-O???. What sort of parent are you?. How did you let your kid get mixed up in this?. People say that when the shitt hits the fan, you"re going to have to do a runner, Daddy-O, because you ain"t going to be very popular.

Right on, Mayrose, agreed. GO STRAIGHT TO JAIL. When you get there, meet interesting new criminal chums, and learn interesting new tricks. It may pass the time of day. When and if you are released, pay up the huge sums of money demanded by the Criminal proceeds Recovery Agency.

Scudloadawhatever - I really do think you need some help in the form of counselling etc.

Your behaviour borders on paranoid neurotic.

I am only guessing at this but were you bullied a lot at school or perhaps even abused? Either way, you need to get over some serious issues in your life.

So what do we make of this?. What you reckon Daddy-O?. Maybe there are gardeners among us. Anyone ever had a nasty pernicious weed or thorn on the edge of their garden, offending to the eye and sensibilities?. You wait for someone to come and remove it, and wait, and wait, and no-one seems interested in doing the job. It"s a small job, not worth their while. In time, your patience is exhausted. You decide to tackle the job yourself. There is nothing left to lose, it is a case of picking the right tool for the job. Chainsaw?. Machette?. Maybe even the kitchen knife. You have to hack it to bits, to get out the roots, never mind if your Sunday best suit is splattered with plant juice.

Anyway, back to this news article (really an advertisement), does everyone think that at 70K for the leasehold (you still pay the rent on the place) it is a good bargain?

The pub industry is struggling a lot at the moment. Is this pub busy even?

Anyone been to the same school as the infamous Mr. Blobby?. Was this untreated psychopathic antisocial individual a bully during his schooldays?. Mr Blobby has tried to bully and terroize others as an adult. Where did this all begin?. Maybe they"ll send him in for psychiatric reports before any term of imprisonment is decided, if it all comes to that?.

the pub was a little gold mine about 15 years ago as i waitressed there and food paid more then the booze some nights i remember but now everytime i walk past its never packed out like it used to be but i expect thats the same for all pubs nowadays! do people think its due to the smoking ban?

So, a 70K pub that is never packed out in a village that will never set the world on fire (sorry - couldn't resist that one) is up for grabs. Any takers with a stack of cash burning a hole in their pocket?

Pubs are suffering because of the smoking ban and the fact that most people have less disposable income.

Right first of all, do u lot even visit this pub? How can u say that the pub is never packed out? What times do u walk past the pub?!! When it's closed?! The sedgemoor inn does NOT stock marston n green king ales!! The ales r very well looked after n are rotated with a great selection! Also I know that the buffet menu starts at £3.50 per head, if u ask for a buffet at £5 per head then that's what u are going to get, regardless of how many people to turn up!! No-one I know has EVER complained about the food, Mayb u have different owners in mind n not the owners that currently own it now!!

If you worked in this pub, fifteen years back, can you recollect one particular individual who was always picking on other customers, and regularly causing trouble?.

I didn't say they stocked Marston and Green Kings ales, I said most around here do, or Butcombe Bitter/Otter Ale! I do remember calling in one day last summer hoping to find an interesting ale and there was only Tribute or something similar and a 'big national' brewery ale on offer.

Hopefully next time I pop by there will be something interesting like Glastonbury Ales, Yeovil Ales, RCH etc etc Something you dont get in every other pub or down the super market would be nice.

Westonzoyland is one of the villages I am considering moving out to, so to have a good village pub with quality real ale would be excellant.

Amberjm says...
10:33pm Fri 17 Feb 12

The pub uses Glastonbury ales alot, they have an ale that is made exclusively for the sedgemoor inn from Glastonbury ales! Most pubs sale tribute because it is a massive seller, pubs would b stupid not to get tribute in every now and again! The thing that gets me is that this is someone's living, someone's business, n yes the pub is on the market so they don't need people slating it when they clearly know nothing about the pub n the current owners! The current owners has massively picked this pub up n it is a great pub with fantastic food! I get that people want the village pub to sale local ales n the sedgemoor inn does! This isn't just aimed at u, this is aimed at everyone that is saying bad things about the pub, why don't you come in, have a meal n a drink n if ur not satisfied with ur meals etc then complain about it to the owners, not on a website where u are hiding behind a computer screen!! Rant over!! :)

For what its worth, if any of you went to the bother of popping to "The Sedge", you would see what a friendly, welcoming local it is!! Staff are fantastic, nothing is ever too much trouble and they are so very welcoming to our two small children. The roast dinner is the best around and the varied menu will give any other pub a run for its money!! How about people give it a try before commenting on here and potentially ruining a business!!!

This is a great little village pub. The staff are friendly and the food is great. You wont beat it locally for quality and price. The sunday carvery is VERY good. Yes the pub trade is suffering at the moment but so are a lot of businesses. You cant comment on The Sedge unless you have tried it . Good luck to the leaving tenants and good luck to the new tenants .
