THE first Bridgwater 10K is set to be held at the new Trinity Sports and Leisure Centre.
Novice runners and seasoned athletes are invited to join each other at the starting line at 10am, Sunday, April 15.
The event, has been organised in partnership between 1610 which manages the centre, and Total Buzz Events.
The course is mainly a flat route - idea for novice runners and athletes looking to improve their race times.
The one lap route will lead runners on quiet country roads and will offer stunning views of the Quantock Hills and the Somerset Levels.
The Trinity Sports and Leisure Centre has just undergone a major re-development and athletes will be able to use the first class facilities at the centre which also offers plenty of parking for race competitors.
Trinity Sports and Leisure Centre will be aiming to make the day a real community event, as competitors, their families and friends will also be able to take part in a range of activities at the centre including a 1k fun run for the children, gym challenges, climbing wall, racquet sports, trampolining, face painting and the chance to have fun on a bouncy castle. Refreshments will be available throughout the day.
Everyone entering the Bridgwater 10K will have the opportunity of winning spot prizes with medals/mementos awarded to all finishers. • For more details about the Bridgwater 10K, please contact Trinity Sports and Leisure Centre Tel 01278-429119 or to enter visit www.1610.org.uk
