A CRICKETER from North Petherton has called his selection to represent the England Physical Disability Cricket team as an 'opportunity of a lifetime'.
Keiran Cosens, 23, will jet off to Dubai next week with the national squad as they compete in two Twenty20 matches and three one-day matches against Pakistan.
Keiran, who is an all-rounder, has been involved with the high performance squad from the start and he said he is relishing the prospect of playing cricket for his country.
He suffered a stroke at birth and suffers from some paralysis down the right side of his body.
Keiran said: “Hopefully this will be the start of a long international career and something that me and my family can look back over and be proud of. It's great and I just can't wait.
“It's the opportunity of a lifetime and I intend to grab it with both hands and take every chance I get.
“These will be the first serious matches we have played and the first ever physicaI disability side international tour so it's good to be involved with something right from the start and I am very excited.”
Keiran has secured sponsorship from bat-makers Millichamp and Hall and solicitors Irwin Mitchell.
