Campaigners hand across petition

A PETITION against spiralling council charges has been handed in to Sedgemoor District Council by disgruntled Bridgwater neighbours.

Protestors from the West Street area of town handed in more than 70 signatures to councillors, after hitting out at an increase in caretaking charges by Homes in Sedgemoor, which manages council houses for the authority.

The council told the Mercury the new sums reflected the cost of providing the service.

KEEP our costs down: Geoff Rawles, Roger Perrin and Dave Winter hand across their petition to Cllr Gill Slocombe and Cllr Philip Smeed. KEEP our costs down: Geoff Rawles, Roger Perrin and Dave Winter hand across their petition to Cllr Gill Slocombe and Cllr Philip Smeed.
